Woman, 80, pulled from Lake Michigan dies following possible medical event | By Sheboygan Co. Sheriff

July 12, 2026 – Sheboygan Co., Wi – On Sunday, July 12, 2026 at approximately 4:56 p.m. Sheboygan County Emergency Communications received a 911 call regarding a motionless female seen in Lake Michigan near the 200 Block of Juniper Drive in the Town of Wilson.

The complainant advised the female was not conscious and did not appear to be breathing floating towards the shore. The First Responder arrived on scene and began to provide CPR to the victim.

After some time, the individual was pronounced dead.

It was learned the individual was seen walking in the water around 4 p.m. and approximately 4:45 p.m. by nearby residents.

The victim is an 80-year-old female from the Sheboygan area. It is suspected the individual accidentally drowned or had a medical event while in the water.

 

Public safety agencies involved were: Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Wilson Fire Department, Town of Wilson First Responders, City of Sheboygan Fire Department, Oostburg Fire Department, and Orange Cross Ambulance.

 

No further information will be released.
