July 27, 2026 – Village of Jackson, Wi – Three friends in the Village of Jackson used a Saturday afternoon of their summer vacation to help someone who once helped their family. Jaxon Frank, 9, along with friends Lukas Fischer and Levi Lehner, spent a couple hours holding a lemonade stand in front of Jaxon’s home on Pine Drive. By the end of the day, the boys raised more than $316, for Lt. Foeger and his father, who were injured in a recent explosion.
The idea started after Jaxon’s mother, Sara Frank, learned the injured officer was someone who had made a lasting impression on her family.
“My husband passed away a couple of years ago and Detective Mike Foeger was the one who did the investigation,” Frank said. “He was just really very kind and very supportive. You knew he was doing his job, but his heart was in it. He took the extra time to talk with me and reassure me.”
Jaxon overheard his mom talking about the incident Saturday morning when Lt. Foeger and his father were critically injured in an explosion in the Town of Cedarburg.
“I said, ‘Yeah, it’s one of the ones who helped when Daddy passed away,'” Frank said. “Jaxon immediately said, ‘What can we do to help them?'”
After hearing about a fundraising page for the family, Jaxon came up with another idea.
“He and his buddies wanted to do a lemonade stand,” Frank said. “His friends came over. I helped him make some signs and Jaxon’s grandmother pitched in by purchasing the lemonade, cups and supplies.”
The boys didn’t stop with lemonade.
“They came up with the idea to sell water and Popsicles too,” Frank said. “I just put it out there on Facebook because I know how supportive our little community is.”
The response exceeded every expectation.
“It was really cool to see the police department stop out,” she said. “And then people from the community. We had one guy show up and he said, ‘I traveled across town on my moped.’ The boys were all excited.”
The boys even stayed open longer than planned so firefighters, who had been delayed by an emergency call, could stop by with a fire truck.
Lukas’ mother, Elyse Fischer, said her son didn’t hesitate when he heard about the idea.
“He was very excited about being able to help the officer who was hurt in that fire,” Fischer said.
“I was very proud, but not surprised. Those boys always seem to be coming up with something nice to do, but yeah, very proud of all of them.”
Customers were asked to pay $1, but hardly anyone did.
Many people handed over $5, $10 or $20 bills.
“They’d say, ‘Keep the change,'” Jaxon said. “It felt good.”
One Jackson teacher, who was out of town, even sent a donation through Venmo.
On Monday morning, Jaxon delivered the donation to the Jackson Police Department.
“They were happy,” he said, regarding the difference three fourth-grade boys can make as they inspired a community with kindness in the face of tragedy.

Jaxon’s mom laughed while recalling another conversation from the weekend.
“Jaxon originally wanted to do the lemonade stand at Hickory Park on the corner,” she said. “I told him just to do it in the front yard.”
Jaxon was worried if they set it up elsewhere.
“He goes, ‘Actually, I don’t think we can because we don’t have a permit,'” Frank said. “I told one of the officers that story and they laughed. They said, ‘I don’t think you have to have a permit for a lemonade stand.'”

July 26, 2026 – Village of Jackson, WI – An explosion in neighboring Ozaukee County, WI, has hit home in the Village of Jackson as one person involved in the incident is a Lieutenant with the Jackson Police Department. Michael Foeger, 54, and his father, Karl, 82, were critically injured following an explosion Saturday morning in the 2300 block of Brandt Drive in the Town of Cedarburg. Both are being treated at St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center in Milwaukee.

Lt. Mike Foeger and his father, Karl, were both critically injured in an explosion in Cedarburg yesterday morning. Both remain hospitalized with serious injuries.
Lt. Foeger is a nearly 30-year veteran of the Jackson Police Department and previously served for 10 years as Chief of the Newburg Police Department. Throughout his career, Mike has dedicated his life to serving and protecting others.
The Fraternal Order of Police Kettle Moraine Lodge #10 has created a fundraiser to help support the Foeger family during this incredibly difficult time.

July 25, 2026 – Town of Cedarburg, Wi – At approximately 11:48 a.m. Ozaukee County Dispatch Center received several reports of an explosion in the 2300 block of Brandt Drive in the Town of Cedarburg. It was reported there was a fire with a large amount of black smoke coming from the area.
Deputies arrived on scene at approximately 1155am. Two victims were identified, a 54-year-old male and an 82-year-old male, both from the Town of Cedarburg.
Both victims received critical injuries and were transported to Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center in Milwaukee. A dog was also injured in the blast and was taken to an animal hospital.
The explosion occurred in an outbuilding. The building is described as a metal shed-type structure. The building was a total loss.
It is unknown what caused the explosion. The investigation remains active and all possibilities are being investigated. The State Fire Marshall will be assisting with the investigation.

The intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Brandt Drive remains closed as the investigation continues. Anyone who lives in the area is able to get to their residences.
