West Bend Special Olympic softball & bocce teams compete today | By Nicole Mueller

West Bend, Wi – The West Bend Special Olympics Softball and Bocce Ball teams will be competing in the District Tournament on Saturday, August 1. The Sluggers softball team will play at Heritage Park in Richfield.

After two strong wins at the July 18 qualifying tournament at Wick Playfield in Milwaukee, the Sluggers will be competing in Division 1 against Spring City Thunder and the Fort Atkinson Blackhawks for a chance to advance to the State Fall Games at the DeForest Sports Complex this September.

The West Bend Sluggers roster includes athletes: Mike Arguijo, Nick Biersack, Tom Dillman, Tim Grochowski, Bryce Limbeck, AJ Miller, Santo Mortillaro, David Schneidervin, Douglas Schneidervin, Abby Spence, Ben Werner.

The Sluggers are led by head coach, Nicole Mueller and their coaching staff includes David Hammonds, David Mueller, Brett Mueller and Grace Schneidervin.

The West Bend Palinas Bocce Ball team, which includes Kristen Niemuth, Julie May, Julie Schemmel, Sena Szjewski, Amy Jo Theisen, and Melissa Lepak, will also be competing at Heritage Park.

The West Bend Rollers Bocce Ball team, which includes Holly Biegler, Mary Grover, Michaela Williams, Doug Marion and Sharon Werner, will be competing at Appleton Memorial Park. Both teams are coached by Joan Kienbaum and will be competing for a chance to advance to the State Fall Games at the DeForest Sports Complex this September.
