October 5, 2026 – West Bend, Wi – Janet M. Yttri, 67, of West Bend, WI, was called home to Heaven on September 30, 2026. She went peacefully while surrounded by family. She was a compassionate and loving mother and grandmother who always put her faith in God. She remained positive and kept on smiling throughout her short battle with pancreatic cancer. One of her favorite affirmations was “Nothing is more powerful than prayer, nothing is stronger than God, and nothing is greater than God. Amen!”
Janet was born Dec 12th, 1958, the Daughter of Walter and Donna (Heimermann) Voigt. She was raised in Kewaskum and during her high school years moved to Waucousta with her parents and siblings, Karen and Randy. She graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in 1977. Janet was an excellent accordion player, and she taught music lessons to many students.
She played her accordion in the “Mike Yttri & The Music Mates” polka band for many years. She worked at Amity Leather Products, followed by the West Bend Public Library and the West Bend School District as a custodian, where she was fortunate to work with her sister and best friend Karen. They had a lot of fun working together, and always found a way to share a laugh. After her retirement, she continued to work parttime, at Ozaukee Christian School (now Faithridge) as a part-time custodian.
Janet loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking and going to the movies. A hobby she shared with Karen was collecting and painting rocks from Lake Superior. Janet also loved traveling and went on many trips with her siblings and children. While she enjoyed many things in life, she proudly devoted most of it to raising her three children, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.
Janet was preceded in death by her former husband Mike Yttri, her parents Walter and Donna Voigt, maternal grandparents Lena and Clem Heimermann, paternal grandparents Rosa and Carl Voigt, and many aunts and uncles.
Those left to carry on her legacy include her sons Jonathan (Tiffany) Yttri, Tim (Andrea) Yttri, and Nathan (Katie) Yttri. It further includes her stepchildren Michael (Karen) Yttri, Lisa (Ken) Sharbuno, and Dawn (Dawn Morgan) Brace who also called her mom. Her grandchildren include RJ Kultgen, Kaylie Yttri, Lyle Yttri, Henry Yttri, Elliott Yttri and Walter Yttri.
She is also survived by her sister Karen (Dave) Huettner and brother Randy (Julie) Voigt, along with nieces and nephews Lisa (Ryan) Loehrke, Mike (Brooke) Huettner, Kevin (Katrina) Huettner, Nichole Fettig, Curtis Voigt, Christopher (Kathleen) Vorpahl and Stephanie Voigt.
A special thank you to St. Luke’s Hospital- Milwaukee, and the Kathy Hospice, West Bend. Many thanks also to Pastor Robert Oberg, who visited her often during her final weeks.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 9, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church – Wacousta, at W2011 County Road F, Campbellsport WI 53010. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. followed by the service at 1 p.m. with burial and luncheon to follow. Pastor Robert Oberg will be the officiant. Memorials are appreciated to the family, (Revocable Trust of Janet M. Yttri) or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
