Albiero Plumbing and HVAC brings out the “BIG GUTS” for Friday, May 15 fundraising brat fry

West Bend, Wi – The team at Albiero Plumbing and HVAC has been working to rally attention this week for its Friday, May 15, 2026, brat fry fundraiser for the Honor Flight. Plumbing experts trying to do marketing… ended up going, not into the toilet… but just a bit sideways.

“We were trying to think of a good slogan for our effort,” said Albiero salesman Bob LeMay. “We all agreed we wanted to go BIG.”

The group played off that idea. Big sign. Big sales. Big turnout.

“Eventually the thought was, let’s bring out the big guns,” said LeMay.  “Like… we weren’t messing around. It was going to be an all-out effort. We were going BIG to raise a lot of money for the veterans.”

A banner was added to their current flier, however, caught up in the enthusiasm a minor detail was missed.

“I’m blaming fat fingers,” said LeMay.

The slogan, “Bringing out the BIG GUNS” turned into “Bringing out the BIG GUTS.”

“Well, we all got a good laugh out of it… and, just decided to keep it.”

LeMay said it’s “a guy thing.”

As the conversation rolled on that day, Team Albiero kept the joke going by naming people they hoped to see at the brat fry.

“Corey from Albiero Plumbing called out the Tennies boys at Tennies Ace Hardware,” said LeMay.

“I’m comfortable with my ‘front porch’ and I’m calling out Jeff Szukalski from Jeff’s Spirits and Aron Rodman from Extra Mile Landscape.

“I hope these guys will show up, then we will do a Facebook live broadcast so they can call out their friends.”

LeMay gave a hat tip to the ice bucket challenge, referencing the wildly popular ALS fundraiser from 2014 where people would dump buckets of ice water on their head and then, via social media, call out their friends to do the same thing while also making a donation to the cause.

LeMay said they have a growing list of friends in the community they would like to see at their Friday event. “Doug Gonring from West Bend Elevator and Willie Mueller from the ballpark both fit the profile,” said LeMay. “They could really improve sales, spoil their employees with lunch, and help support veterans.”

”We really want to see the community turnout out and help support this,” said LeMay.

According to the Honor Flight Network mission statement, “Honor Flight Network is a national nonprofit organization comprised of independent hubs working together to achieve the Honor Flight mission. In furtherance of this common goal, we have the enormous privilege of showing our nation’s veterans the appreciation and honor they deserve.

Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with other comrades, remember the fallen, and share their stories and experiences with other veterans. Honored veterans always travel free of charge, thanks to generous donations to our organization.

While initially focused solely on America’s World War II era veterans, Honor Flight Network has expanded its mission to include those who served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War eras. The Honor Flight TLC program also honors veterans of any service era who are critically ill.”

Many veterans from the Washington County and surrounding areas have had the opportunity to participate in the Honor Flight program.

Albiero Plumbing and HVAC is proud to be a sponsor of this fundraising event and will match all donations from the lunch. All proceeds will go directly to the Honor Flight Network.

Additionally, all veterans and active duty military eat free that day.

For those who simply wish to donate, a bucket will be provided at the event.

Your generosity will show America’s veterans the honor, gratitude and the community of support that they deserve.
