  1. I dont think wbpd should issue a ticket. Bicyclist should not be riding on the sidewalk.
    Sidewalks are meant for pedestrians..

    • I respectfully disagree. Any sane bicyclist shouldn’t be riding down 33. A sidewalk is safer. It’s the motorists responsibility to drive defensively and watch for traffic of all kinds.

  2. I agree with the police because these drivers need to start respecting the driving laws, stay off the phones, off the drugs, off the beer, quit driving on city streets especially if there’s homes & schools on or nearby, like race car drivers, quit disobeying traffic signs & signals especially walk lights & those yellow lights by regnar park & behind dominoes pizza by the school,& on 33 & paradise Dr & 45,these lights are there for a reason to stop traffic & allow people on bikes or on foot, walking animals & for people in wheelchairs etc so we can cross & travel around the city also,& it is the law that if someone is already in the crosswalk or has the walk light they have the right away,or in areas in neighborhoods where they don’t have a stop sign & drivers do & or if they are turning & the person doesn’t have a stop sign, drivers need to quit blasting their horns, squealing their tires & trying to drive 40-100MPH on city streets when they need to be going the speed limit,I’m on the cops side because I have 2 in the family.

  3. I was literally hit be a car while bicycling on 33, that’s why this article caught my eye. Because of the typical driver’s inattentiveness I totally understand a 16 year old, who’s probably riding a hybrid or walmart bike (which doesn’t go much faster than a runner) would stay on the sidewalk, especially at 7am when I doubt there’s much foot traffic. Also, he got hit on the road, in the crosswalk, unless he was deliberately biking into a car, why would this be anyone’s fault but the driver’s?
