Bike to Work day is just around the corner, May 20

Bike to Work Day is Friday May 20.

Bike Friendly West Bend and the League of American Bicyclists, the national organization of bicyclists, announce that May is National Bike Month, May 16 is Bike to Work Week and Friday, May 20 is Bike to Work Day.

Bike Friendly West Bend urges everyone to bike to work or try cycling for fun, fitness or transportation.

In West Bend from 6 a.m. – 8 a.m. on May 20 there will be a gathering at the Train Depot on the Eisenbahn State Trail.

Participating cyclists can find more information on the Bike Friendly West Bend- Bike Month Facebook events page.

Free coffee and snacks, cycling-related raffle, fix-a-flat clinic and tech support will be provided to all participants at the West Bend Historic Train Depot.

Jeff Puetz, leader of Bike Friendly West Bend, said, “Bike commuting to work has become part of my daily routine because I enjoy being on the bike, it helps keep me fit and because it’s good for the planet. I’m lucky to work for a company that makes it easy for me to bike to work.”
