Cedar Community’s Heritage House hosts Family Fun Day | By Carrie Sturn

Sept. 23, 2018 – West Bend ,WI – Visit Heritage House, Cedar Community’s restored turn-of-the-century farmhouse, located at their main campus, 5595 County Road Z, West Bend, on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a family fun day.

Tour Heritage House and Ye Olde School, enjoy complimentary desserts and refreshments, musical entertainment, fall color rides throughout the beautiful trails, old-fashioned school games and pumpkin decorating. This event is open to the public and free to attend.

Heritage House is the former homestead of Cedar Community’s original benefactor, William Koehl, and was built in 1865. Visitors relive history, playing an 1884 pump organ in the parlor, learning about pumping cistern water, using homemade soap to hand-wash and line-dry laundry, listen to a crank telephone and work a Victrola.

A visit to Cedar Community’s fully restored, functioning one-room schoolhouse, Ye Olde School, brings the experience of 1920s school days to life.
