Curbside brush collection starts today, Friday, April 7 in West Bend.

April 7, 2017 – West Bend, WI – The city of West Bend will begin curbside brush collection on Friday, April 7.  Branches and sticks will be picked up.  Leaves and grass clippings have to be bagged and brought to the City Drop-Off Yard.

The city’s rules are spelled out below.

Brush should be piled on the terrace by Thursday evening.  Branches should be no longer than 4 feet, and no wider than 6 inches in diameter.  Properties are limited to one brush pile with dimensions no larger than 4’ x 4’ x 4’ per collection day.

 

Residents are reminded that all leaves, lawn rakings, and grass clippings should be bagged and brought to the City Drop-Off Yard.  These items are not to be placed curbside or into the gutter.  By City Ordinance, organic waste cannot be collected with regular garbage.  Sanitation workers are instructed to refuse trash that contains organic waste.

 

City of West Bend residents and residential property owners are required to have a Permit Sticker attached to their vehicle when dropping off items at the City Drop-Off Yard located at 251 Municipal Drive.  Permit Stickers may be purchased for $20 and are valid from January 1 through December 31, 2017.  At the time of purchase, two (2) forms are required:  Current Vehicle Registration and Driver’s License.

 

The Drop-Off Yard and Public Works office will be closed Friday, April 14, 2017, however the yard and office will reopen on Saturday, April 15, 2017, from 8:00 a.m.—1:30 p.m.  All garbage and recycling collection schedules will be on the normal collection routes during the week of April 10-14, 2017.
