February 15, 2023 – Town of West Bend, WI – UPDATE – Emergency crews are returning to quarters. Deemed a false alarm.
The Washington County Dive Team and other emergency crews are staging off of Riesch Road just south of Highway 33 for a possible vehicle through the ice on Big Cedar Lake.
The first call came in just before noon on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
Early word is some fishing equipment was found on the east side of Riesch Drive. There is no vehicle in sight.

Scare tactic to keep people off the ice? I get it, but I don’t need to be fear mongered into staying off unstable ice🤷‍♂️!!!
