April 10, 2017 – Town of Polk, WI – There’s expected to be a large turnout tonight at the Washington County Fair Park for the annual DNR Spring Fish and Wildlife Public Hearing and The Wisconsin Conservation Congress Annual Spring County Conservation meeting.
According to the DNR there will be proposed rule changes and advisory questions relating to fish and wildlife management in Wisconsin.
County residents have the option to run for a seat on the Conservation Congress and to elect delegates from their county to represent their county views regarding natural resources on the Conservation Congress.
Some of the other topics covered will include:
- weighing in on 2017 antlerless harvest quotas
- rule changes including extending the fall turkey and pheasant hunting and fisher trapping seasons
- extending the deer archery season in farmland zones
In Washington and Dodge Counties there will also be a question about wheter to reduce the size of refuge areas at Theresa Marsh Wildlife Area and allow entry after November 15.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
