He made contact with the driver, a 42-year-old rural Columbus man.  After the initial contact the driver fled into the City of Beaver Dam before driving out onto northbound USHY 151.

The driver continued to flee at speeds exceeding 90 miles per hour.

A Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant was able to deploy road spikes on the vehicle and it eventually stopped on USHY 151 northbound north of State Highway 33.

The northbound lanes of USHY 151 were closed south of State Highway 33 until the driver was taken into custody for felony fleeing and a felony OWI offense without further incident.

During the incident a dog escaped from the driver’s vehicle causing issues with traffic on both the northbound and southbound lanes.  The dog was finally caught and turned over to the dog owner.
