Excuses are over: Alloy is at the Kettle Moraine YMCA

The Kettle Moraine YMCA is teaming with Paradise Springs Fitness to offer a new program that gets results.
 

Alloy is offered at all three branches of the KM YMCA along with partner location, Paradise Springs Fitness in West Bend. Neighbors interested in signing up for Alloy or looking for more information can stop at the Welcome Desk at the YMCA and sign up for a Healthy Living Appointment to get started.

 

For the month of August YMCA staff and a VIP group will train and test the system. http://www.washingtoncountyinsider.com will provide testimonials and videos to give you a better idea of what the program is about.

 

I have one 3-week VIP pass to give away. If you’re interested submit a comment of not more than 200 words about why you should be chosen to participate. Provide a direct contact email in the note.

 

The VIP session runs Monday, Aug. 15 – Friday, Sept. 2. Classes are held at the West Washington Street location and River Shores. Please only respond if you will definitely take advantage of the program. There’s no need to join the YMCA to take part in this specific 3-week Alloy VIP trial.

“I considered myself to have a pretty good workout routine at my old gym. I worked out 4 days a week and did a long run on the weekend. Three years ago my definition of working out was just running on the treadmill and occasionally doing some sit-ups. I rarely, if ever, touched weights and certainly was not able to do a push-up. I would be hard pressed to say that I could even do push-ups on my knees back then. I struggled with the fact that I was not losing weight and not getting faster when I would run. I knew something had to change, but wasn’t sure how. Three years ago, I joined the gym and I was hooked. I was a little intimidated at first since I was not in my typical comfort zone. That feeling didn’t last long. The team here was patient and eager to help me learn the ropes (literally!). It really is like Cheers. It really has become my Happy Hour. It is a habit and part of my routine that I just consider a no-brainer. You wake up and go. No excuses.


It took about a year to notice a considerable difference in my running. Measurably speaking, I was 18 minutes faster on my last half-marathon and felt great at the end. My numbers on the scale are about the same as they always have been, but I now understand that 5 pounds of muscle looks much different from 5 pounds of fat. My greatest feat is being able to do push-ups! Hands down, I love them more than running now. You know those pair of jeans that hang in your closet? The ones that you just can’t seem to part with because you know you are going to be able to fit into them someday…and they haunt you! I can finally fit into them, but they are way out of style! I am thankful for the support and education that the entire team has given me. Now if I can just get those pull-ups!”
