The Timberwolves got on the scoreboard first when quarterback Ryde Ehley connected with Donovan Pettis on a 9-yard touchdown pass. Timmy Bagin made the first of his 6 point after attempts to stake the T-wolves to an early 7-0 lead.

On the next LWL drive, the Knights intercepted an Ehley pass. After a long return on the interception, Dominican quarterback Demitrius Taylor scored on a 6-yard run. The Knights completed a pass on the 2-point conversion but the T-wolves defensive back Donovan Pettis made a sure tackle on the Knight’s receiver, keeping him from crossing the goal line.

Heading into the second quarter the Timberwolves built their 7-6 lead with another Ehley to Pettis completion. This time it was a 28-yard strike for a touchdown. While holding the Knights scoreless in the second period, the T-wolves scored twice. Ehley connected with Beau Kuhl on a 19-yard touchdown pass and later the T-wolves added a 22-yard rushing touchdown from Carson Batzel.

With the point-after attempts, the halftime score was LWL dominating Dominican, 28-6.

In the third quarter, the T-wolves did most of their damage on the ground.

Beau Kuhl scored on a 6-yard run early in the quarter and Batzel added another touchdown; this one from 3 yards out.

Batzel’s run closed out the scoring for the T-wolves and started the running clock. Batzel
finished with 182 yards on 19 carries as the LWL running game was strong for the second week in a row.

Ryde Ehley passed for 93 yards and 3 touchdowns, completing 5 of 6 passes.

Dominican scored in the fourth quarter on another touchdown run by Taylor. With a successful 2-point conversion the final score was 42-14.

The win sets the T-wolves up for a two game home winning streak if it can beat
Burlington Catholic Central on Friday night. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Last year’s game came down to the wire with the BCC Hilltoppers hanging on for a 37-34 victory in a see-saw affair. This year’s game promises to be an even matchup.
