Goodwill in West Bend evacuated following possible gas leak

May 28, 2021 – West Bend, WI – West Bend police and fire have cordoned off the area at 1717 Clarence Court following a report of a possible gas leak at the Goodwill.

Neighbors said fire trucks tore down the street with sirens wailing around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021.

The last time authorities were at Goodwill was in July 2020 when there was a reported bomb threat. At that time an employee at Goodwill discovered a grenade in a donation box and West Bend Police were called.  In 2020 West Bend police confirmed the device was a grenade. Officers immediately assisted in safely evacuating the store and securing the surrounding area.

Police have closed off the entrance to the store parking lot however they are allowing traffic to pass by on the street.
