How to obtain an Absentee Ballot | By Steve Volkert

Washington Co., WI – You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing or online at MyVote.wi.gov

Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.

This means a photo or PDF of your driver’s license or password. A selfie, although humorous, is not acceptable.

Please be patient as the Clerk’s office has had an overwhelming amount of absentee ballot requests.

After going on the state’s website above and requesting an absentee ballot, it may take 2-3 days to mail out the ballot and have the ballot arrive at your doorstep. Get your absentee ballot request in ASAP due to the volume of requests being processed. The deadline for mailing absentee ballots is April 2.

Keep in mind ballots can go through the mail to you and can be mailed or returned to City Hall. Or you can vote in person and the ballot never leaves City Hall. Those are the only two options.

In-person absentee voting in the City of Hartford starts Monday, March 23, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 pm.

The location is being decided right now. It will most likely be on the ground level of City Hall in order to abide with the 10 voter limit in the building and the 6 feet separation distance between voters.

Requesting an absentee ballot at MyVote.wi.gov is your best option at this time.

Please limit your phone calls to City Hall as the staffing right now is limited by state mandates.
