February 19, 2023 – Tomaszów Mazowiecki /POL – Fans are calling him the 18-wheeler as Town of Kewaskum 18-year-old Jordan Stolz skated to his third medal performance at the ISU World Cup in Tomaszów Mazowiecki /POL.
Stolz took second place in the 1000-meter Sunday morning finishing with a time 1:08.64.
He was just .12 of a second behind gold medal winner Wesly Dijs of the Netherlands who finished with a time of 1:08.52. Dijs also set a new track record, breaking the record previously set by Hein Otterspeer in November 2021 at 1:08.67.

During his race Stolz, wore the white armband, indicating a start on the inside lane. He lined up against Håvard Holmefjord Lorentzen of Norway.

Stolz flew out of the first turn and eked out a smidge of a lead over Lorentzen. Down the final stretch Stolz finished three strides ahead of Lorentzen clocking in a time of 1:08.64 to Norway’s 1:09.30.
With the second-place finish, Stolz moves up the ISU World Cup Standings to third place at 217. The Netherlands Hein Otterspeer is in first at 283 and Canadian Laurent Dubreuil is in second at 231.

On Friday, Stolz took 1st place in the 1500 meter with a time of 1:45.44 vs. Kjeld Nuis who finished at 1:46.16. Click HERE to watch the 1500m race where Stolz won gold.
Stolz’s gold-medal finish of 1:45.44 was also a new track record. The previous track record was held by Dutch speedskater Thomas Krol set in November 2019 with a time of 1:45.76.

A couple side notes:
- For the weekend Stolz climbed the podium three times finishing with a gold and two silver.
- Stolz finished the 500 meter in 34.73 seconds. The World Record was set in March 2019 by Pavel Kulizhnikov of Russia with a time of 33.61. The track record was set November 2021 by Tingyu Gao of China with a time of 34.26.
- Stolz set a 500-meter track record at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee during the U.S. Junior Championships in January 2023. He finished with a time of 34.40.
