West Bend, WI – The West Bend West JV1 volleyball team started off a little rough in the beginning, losing the first set to Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School 15 – 25.

In the second set WBW coverage got a lot better, yet its hitting should have much better as the team lost the second set, 18 – 25.

The first two losses fired up the Spartans who came back to take the third set with amazing coverage and some outstanding swings, 25 – 23.

Leading the way for the Spartans was Norah Johnson and Samantha Kelly with 3 kills each, Eloise Hughes had 9 assists, Elin Winkler came up with 10 digs, and Alivia Dubey added 2 ace serves.

The Spartans Glacier Trails Conference record is 5 – 1.

The team’s next match is Thursday October 16 with a 5 p.m. start against St. Ambrose Academy.  We will be celebrating our Seniors at 6:30 p.m.
