Kewaskum, WI – The Kettle Moraine Symphony is prepping for its next concert Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. at the Kewaskum Theatre.
This year’s chamber orchestra performance “Classical Light,” will be held at 3 p.m. in the Kewaskum High School Theater,1510 Bilgo Lane, Kewaskum, WI.
At 2 p.m. there is a pre-concert talk presented by Dr. Peter Gibeau, UWM-WC music professor and KMS principal bassist.
A “chamber” orchestra is comprised of the same instruments as a full orchestra, but with reduced numbers. This type of orchestra is appropriate for the time period in which this concert’s music was composed, and also fits well in the more intimate space of the Kewaskum Theater. KMS musicians will perform Mozart’s “Great” Symphony No. 40, Strauss’s Serenade No.7 for 13 Winds, Beethoven’s “Little” Symphony No.8 in F, and Lauridsen’s “O Magnum Mysterium.”
