Kettle Moraine YMCA’s Dynamite Gymnastics Team cap off another great season

The 2016 YMCA National Gymnastics Championship “Sail to your Dreams” was hosted by the various Long Beach Area YMCAs June 29-July 3. Eleven Dynamite Gymnasts marched into the stadium for an Olympic style opening ceremony that was held at the Long Beach Arena. Gymnastics competition was held at the Long Beach Arena with three gyms competing simultaneously. The Dynamites’ team consisted of gymnasts in USAG Girls’ Levels 2-7 and Xcel Gold & Platinum. Gymnastics Director Danielle Rhoads and Coach Abby Meidl coached this year’s team.

 

 

In attendance on behalf of the Kettle Moraine YMCA National Team 2016 were Cecilia Clark, Ericka Endries, Madeline Heltemes, Julia Hilzley, Abby Meidl, Brenna Meidl, McKennah Orth, Kira Pirrung, Noelle Pommer, Isabelle Thomas, and Taeya Yamaguchi.

 

 

Two Dynamites are national champions at their level – Noelle Pommer, level 6 bar champion with a 9.35 and all around champion with a 36.425 and Abby Meidl, level 7 beam champion with a 9.3.

 

 

The following gymnasts finished in the top 3 spots on events in their level – Taeya Yamaguchi, level 2 took 3rd on bars with a 9.175, 3rd on floor with a 9.4, and 2nd all around with a 37.1. McKennah Orth, level 3 took 2nd on floor with a 9.5 and 3rd all around with a 36.1. Isabelle Thomas, level 3 took 3rd on floor with a 9.325.

 

 

Noelle Pommer, level 6 in addition to her first place wins she also took 2nd on vault with a 9.275 and 3rd on floor with a 9.15. Abby Meidl, level 7 in addition to her first place on beam she also took 3rd on vault with a 9.45.
