March 30, 2021 – Kewaskum, Wi – Kewaskum school district taxpayers, I write with hopes you vote April 6 in the Kewaskum School Board election.
Over the past year the Kewaskum School Board has made drastic changes to its leadership on the board. Jim Leister was elected president by his fellow board members. Over this past year with Jim Leister and Ric Leitheiser’s guidance and leadership have helped the board as a whole and school district achieve so much.
The top three achievements, in my opinion are: 1. Keeping the schools open in person and virtually. 2. Lowering the tax rate 3. Building an education system inclusive to all students.
Over the past year the Kewaskum School Board made it its top priority to ensure parents and students the doors to the school would be open in fall at full capacity. Since last fall the school board under Jim Leister and Ric Leitheiser’s leadership promises were kept keeping the schools open, ensuring all children would be given the opportunity to attend in person. While other schools shuttered their doors, Kewaskum led by example.
During a pandemic and so many uncertainties the Kewaskum School Board was able to lower your taxes. It was through hard work and dialogue this was possible. Jim Leister and Ric Leitheiser led the charge when it came to keeping the school district in fiscal shape and making sure every tax dollar was spent wisely with every child’s education and safety in mind.
Both gentlemen have asked the tough and uncomfortable questions to ensure fiscal responsibility.
The Kewaskum School Board with the leadership of Jim Leister and Ric Leitheiser has broadened every child’s educational opportunity. Not only to prepare students to go onto secondary education but also to go into the trades after high school.
Both Jim Leister and Ric Leitheiser have exemplified what leadership and courage stand for. Jim and Ric are willing to ask whatever questions are necessary and achieve the district’s goals.
Please join me in voting for Jim Leister and Ric Leitheiser on April 6 and keep a great thing going.
Go Indians!
Sincerely,
Bradley A. Petersen
