1 man dead following a 2-vehicle crash in neighboring Dodge County, WI

May 12, 2023 – Dodge Co., Wi – One man has died following injuries suffered in a 2-vehicle crash this week in neighboring Dodge County, Wi.

On May 9, 2023, at approximately 3:07 p.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traffic crash on US Highway 151 at County Road DE in the township of Calamus, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Initial investigation showed that an 83-year-old male (from rural Beaver Dam, WI) was operating a 2008 Mercury Sable sedan south on County Road DE and stopped at the stop sign to US Highway 151.

There was an 82-year-old female passenger (from rural Beaver Dam, WI) in the Mercury.

 

The Mercury pulled away from the stop sign and a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu traveling south on US Highway 151 and being operated by a 57-year-old female with a 54-year-old male passenger (both from rural Crivitz, WI), collided with the Mercury as it was attempting to cross over US Highway 151.

The male driver of the Mercury was extricated and transported by medical helicopter to UW Hospital and died on May 11, 2023. The passenger of the Mercury was transported to Marshfield Medical Clinic in Beaver Dam with non-life-threatening injuries. The operator and passenger of the Chevrolet were transported to Marshfield Medical Clinic with non-life-threatening injuries.

Assisting with the crash were Beaver Dam Paramedics, Beaver Dam Fire Department, Beaver Dam Police Department, Dodge County Emergency Management, and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
