Search for missing paddle boarder continues; lakeshore homeowners asked for assistance | Sheriff Christy Knowles

**UPDATED NEWS RELEASE – 08-03-23 @ 1:15PM**
Search and rescue efforts for the missing female subject on Lake Michigan remain active and in progress today in both Ozaukee and Sheboygan Counties. We are requesting for any homeowners who reside along Lake Michigan between the City of Sheboygan and the City of Port Washington to check their properties and shoreline for any signs of the missing subject. If anyone has any information, please contact the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office at 262-284-7172.

UPDATE: August 3, 2023 – 1:15 p.m. – At approximately 9:46 a.m., the paddle board belonging to the missing subject on Lake Michigan was located onshore in the Town of Holland, Sheboygan County; however, the subject remains missing.

The female subject was last seen wearing a white long-sleeved t-shirt, black shorts with a white stripe, and a green one-piece swimsuit underneath. It is also believed that she was wearing a black life jacket flotation device.

August 3, 2023 – Town of Belgium, WI – On Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at approximately 8:06 p.m. the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office responded to Harrington Beach State Park in the Town of Belgium for a report of a missing subject on a paddle board.

It was reported that the subject went to the state park at approximately 2:30 p.m. to paddle board on Lake Michigan and had not been heard from since.

The missing subject is described as a 49-year-old white female, approximately 5’11”, 140 lbs., wearing a green one-piece swimsuit and black lifejacket. The paddle board is white and blue in color.

Search efforts are being conducted with the assistance of the US Coast Guard, Ozaukee County Emergency Management, Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team, Sheboygan Sheriff’s Office, Port Washington Police Department, and the Port Washington Fire Department.

The investigation and search are ongoing and no further information is available.
