West Bend, WI – On Thursday, October 28, 2021, the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) offers an in-person Saint Kate Artist Talk with Anwar Floyd-Pruitt, featured artist in the MOWA.
The event will take place from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel, The Arc Theater, 139 East Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, WI.
Step into the world of self-portraiture, time travel, and memory with featured artist Anwar Floyd-Pruitt in person in the Arc Theater at Saint Kate—The Arts Hotel. Retina Records finds Anwar Floyd-Pruitt inventing a new visual language capable of evoking the experience of time travel. Densely layered spray-painted works yield a kaleidoscopic installation that is equally inspired by the aesthetic sensibilities of the 1990s as well as by an imagined Afro-futurist tomorrow. Floyd-Pruitt’s abstract faces unite features culled from family photos and launch viewers into a vibrant psychologically and visually intriguing space.
