Obit: Joseph Paul Junek Jr, 68, of Jackson

June 17, 2018 – Jackson, WI – Joseph Paul Junek Jr, 68 of Jackson, WI passed away on June 13, 2018 at the Clement J. Zablocki Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born in Milwaukee WI on March 23, 1950 to Joseph and Shirley (Trost) Junek.  He was an only child who spent most of his childhood with his beloved Aunt Norma Larson.

After he graduated from Washington High School he was drafted into the United States Army and was sent to Okinawa, Japan. Upon his return from The Vietnam War, he was employed at Singer/Eaton Corp. for 27 years.

On May 19th, 1973 he married his love Shari Weaver and spent 45 years together. They had two daughters Jacquelyn (Ben) Carpenter and Joleen Junek (Jason Backaus) and was the proud grandfather to Chandler Carpenter, Elizabeth Schneider and Eli Backhaus.

In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, drawing, spending time with his fur babies and most importantly his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, certified nursing assistants and staff that Joe loved at Zablocki Medical Center and BrightStar. We would also like to thank all the drivers at Able Access for transporting him to his appointments.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday June 21 at Schmidt Funeral Home, N168 W20135 Main St. (Hwy 60) Jackson, WI with Rev. Sandra Herrmann officiating.  A time of gathering will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service.  Private interment services will be held.
