Catherine Silva, nee Bruno

Born: February 26, 1920
Died: April 30, 2016

Catherine “Kaye” M. Silva, nee Bruno of Milwaukee, passed into eternal life on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Alexian Village, at the age of 96 years. She was born on February 26, 1920 in Milwaukee’s Third Ward to the late Giovanni and Vincenza (nee Taranto) Bruno.

During her life, Catherine was a member of St. Rita’s, St. Elizabeth’s, St. Peter and Paul, and St. Monica’s Catholic Churches. She was also a member of Christian Mothers, St. Francis of Assisi, Italian Community Center, UNICO and many other community organizations. Catherine was the rock upon which the family depended. She was a master of sewing, knitting, quilting, and many crafts, as well as, a great Italian cook.

Survivors include 1 daughter Serena “Sarah” Kramer-Plotkin of Gilbert, AZ; 5 grandchildren Robert (Mary Beth) Alexander, Gina (Brian) Wolski, Mary Kaye (Chad) Watson, Rebekah (Billy) Bohucki and Frank Ruffalo; 9 great-grandchildren Anna and Krista Alexander, Brianna and Jacob Wolski, Cory Sanfilippo, Bradley Stauber, Liam Bohucki and Eric and Josephine Ruffalo; 1 sister-in-law Nancy Bruno; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 10 brothers and sisters Joseph, Anthony, Frances Capozzi, James, John, Christina, Sal, Paul, Sam and another brother, John, who died at age two.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 4 at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, W204 N11968 Goldendale Rd, Germantown. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Mequon.
