Obit: Gordon Gorecki, 78

Gordon L. “Gordy” Gorecki, 78, of Newburg, found peace on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at his home.

He was born on August 10, 1937 to the late Ervin and Irene (nee Gabinska) Gorecki in Milwaukee. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. On January 5, 1957 he was united in marriage to Rosalie Yogerst at St. Peter & Paul Church in Nenno. Gordon worked many places over his career, ending at Cedar Ridge working in maintenance, retiring in 2001. He liked going up north to his place on Puckaway Lake and vacationing to Biloxi, Mississippi. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and especially socializing with his friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those Gordon leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 59 years, Rose; three daughters, Marlene (Gary) Kell, Barb (Scott) Rank, and Kelly (Bob) Salinas, all of West Bend; ten grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Kell, Courtney (fiancé Rick Ludwig) Kell, Chad (Brittney) Kell, Garret Kell, Marie (Nick) Zwolinski, Brett Rank, Devon Rank, Bridget Rank, Brenden Salinas, and Jaden Salinas; six great-grandchildren, Mason Kell, Mija Kell, Manning Kell, Jayda Ludwig, Brianna Kell, and Blake Zwolinski; two sisters, Patricia Gorecki and Sandra Holeman; a brother-in-law, Nick Habersetzer; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Gordon is preceded in death by his two brothers, Ervin and Gary Gorecki; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Feliz and Margaret Yogerst; and sister-in-law, Joanne Habersetzer.

Funeral services in remembrance of Gordon will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend.  Gordon’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m.
