Herbert O. Wentlandt, age 96 of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Cedar Crossings Rehabilitation in West Bend, with his loving family by his side.
Herbert was born on November 8, 1919 in Spring Valley, WI to Emil and Elva (nee Coon) Wentlandt. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Miracola in Milwaukee, WI. He started a career as a welder. He then worked as an optician working for: House of Vision, Flugge Optical. Dr. Howe and finished his career at the VA. He will be remembered dearly as a soft spoken man, and also for his love of: dancing, playing bingo, going on boat rides, and mainly- spending time with family. He always enjoyed his family visiting him.
Herbert is survived by his loving children, Barbara (Robert) Lucynski of Hartford and Cheryl (Gregory) Rossey of Hartford; cherished grandchildren, Jackie (Jason), Christa (Dean), Gregory Jr., and Tara; cherished great grandchildren, Cody (Kristina), Anna, Cassie, Emily, Matthew, and Hunter; two cherished great-great grandchildren, Calleigh and Ayden; dear sister, Ramona Johnson of Hudson. He is further survived by special friend Faye, nieces, nephews other loved relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Sylvia Wentlandt; loving son, Brian Wentlandt; dear siblings, Quintin, Elmer, Marshall, Sanford, Bernard, Alicia, Phyllis, Carl, Warren and Donald and special friend Ruth.
Funeral Services for Herbert will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street – Hartford, WI 53027.) Herbert’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Entombment in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee, WI will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
