Obit: Richard A. “Dick” Nienow, 82, formerly of Mequon

Richard A. Nienow “Dick” of Eagle River, formerly of Mequon, died Saturday, August 27th 2016 in Mequon.

Dick moved to Eagle River in 1966. He was a member of the Three Lakes horseshoes league playing for the Warehouse. Dick rarely missed a fish fry at Lumpy’s. He enjoyed solitude of the north woods and cruising the chain in his pontoon. As well as being am avid Packer and Badger fan, Dick wanted everyone to Know that he had a good Life.

Dick was preceded on death by his wife Dorothy, son Kenneth and son-in-law John Steffke. Dick is survived by his children, Joan (Tom) Smetana, of West Bend, Linda Steffke, of Mequon and Tom (Sue) Nienow, of Pewaukee; eight grandchildren, Mike (Michelle) Smetana, Rick (Jon Balthazer) Smetana, Lori (Jonathon) Hardy, Jason (Brittney Seeger) Steffke, Jennifer (Jamie) Kandziora, Zachary Nienow and Angel Hibbs; five great-grandchildren; a sister , Beverly Zirbel; a brother Barry (Barb) Nienow; his furry dog friends; numerous family and friends.
A Celebration of Dick’s life will be held at the American Legion Post ( W57N481 Hilbert Ave, Cedarburg, WI) September 10, 2016 from 2 – 6 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
