Obit: Robert P. Schultheis, 85, West Bend

 

Robert P. Schultheis, 85, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016.  He was born in Milwaukee on February 22, 1931 to Paul and Anne (nee Panduro) Schultheis.  He was a longtime resident of Oconomowoc and West Bend.

 

Robert graduated from Marquette High School and UW-Stout and later married Marie Ellen Loy who preceded him in death on November 15, 2004.  He was employed at various tool & die companies in Milwaukee and Watertown.

 

He taught in the Machine Tooling and Technics Department at Moraine Park WTCS District from 1976-1994.

 

His hobbies included building and flying radio controlled, prop-driven airplanes and jets.  He was the National Champion “TOP GUN” Radio Control Pilot.  He traveled to New Zealand and Europe and was a wonderful storyteller.  Robert also enjoyed N-Scale and Z-Scale Model Railroading.  He was a longtime, active member of Fond du Lac Aeromodelers Flying Club, The Flying Electrons Inc., and the Academy of Model Aeronautics.  He enjoyed activities with friends in the independent living homes at the Cedar Community in West Bend.

 

He is survived by his sister Polly Warner; sister-in-law Martha Loy; brother-in-law Charles (Joanne) Loy; nephews, Rick (Ann) and Bill Riemenschneider and David Warner; nieces, Ann Buth, Debbie Parsch and Dana (Sean) Ryan.  He is further survived by great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Louise Riemenschneider and Dorothy Rathman; and brother-in-law Doug Warner.

Interment of cremains will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Madison, WI.  A private ceremony will be held in Madison at a later date.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cedar Community in West Bend, including the Rehab Center and Timber Cove and the Fond du Lac Flyers Club.
