He was born in Shawano County on June 30, 1935, the son of Virginia Buettner Krueger. On April 11, 1959, Ron married Elizabeth Ann Wittlinger at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. They lived in Thiensville, the Town of Jackson and now in Campbellsport. Ron was a Physical education Teacher for the Mequon-Thiensville School District for 35 years. Ron enjoyed rooting for his favorite sports teams and was a coach for teams of all ages. As an avid sportsman, he shared his interests with his family giving them instructions and guidance. His greatest fishing advice was “jerk-it, jerk-it”. Many memories were made with family and friends; hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, ice fishing and traveling. Ron and Betty enjoyed trips throughout the Unites States and Europe. The family enjoyed their second home in Dancy, WI (an old Railroad Depot) for over 30 years and now the family land in Fairchild, WI where they camp, hunt and enjoy the outdoors. Ron found great satisfaction in passing this bit of paradise on to his children and grandchildren. Ron was a handyman with many talents. At their winter home in Arizona, he was well known for the treats he would give to all the neighborhood dogs. Ron’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He had a special connection with young children and could befriend everyone he came in contact with.
