Obit: Thomas Gruszynski, 67, West Bend

Thomas W. Gruszynski, 67, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Ivy Manor in West Bend.

 

Thomas was born on July 2, 1948, in Peshtigo, the son of Anthony and Marcella (Kushman) Gruszynski. On June 12, 1971, he was united in marriage to Benita Momberg at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Peshtigo.

 

Thomas was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Thomas was an avid hunter and active in many outdoor activities. He enjoyed camping, boating, and watching the Green Bay Packers with his family. Thomas graduated from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. He was employed by Amity Leather and Gehl Company in West Bend as a facilities manager and was also a master electrician. Thomas will be deeply missed by his wife, his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him.

 

Those Thomas leaves behind to cherish his memory include, his wife, Benita; three children, Jeff (Sarah) Gruszynski of Beaver Dam, Kimberly (Jason) Thurin, and Shelly (Ward) Melville both of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Austin, Kendra, Jonathan, Courtney, Emma, Caleb, and Molly; his mother, Marcella Gruszynski of Peshtigo; four brothers, Dan (Jean) Gruszynski of Marinette, Tony (Barb) Gruszynski of Cummings, Georgia, Dale (Bev) Gruszynski of Omro, and Brian (Sherry) Gruszynski of Peshtigo; other relatives and friends.

 

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Gruszynski.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Noon. Burial will follow at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend with military honor rites.

 

Thomas’ family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
