June 21, 2023 – Jackson, Wi – A note of “thanks” from Sarah Krebs and her team after deciding to take a pause on her run of the Ice Age Trail. Krebs began her run titled: Sarah’s Crusade for Corey, on June 3, 2023. Krebs was running the 1,150-mile trail to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer, a disease that took her friend Corey too early.
Wow! Ben, Abel, Johanna, & I have been completely overwhelmed and humbled by all the love and support everyone has given!
On Sunday, my running took a pause due to a nagging shin pain. We are still working on pain relief and answers to a sharp shooting pain across my shin along with reducing swelling.

As we work on this, we are also working on a Plan B for me to finish the trail. I have 564 miles completed. I told Ben I could push through the pain for a day, but then where would we be?
The last few days have been an emotional rollercoaster for all of us…wanting to not be home but not wanting to risk further injury…wanting answers…waiting and seeing.
This crusade is definitely NOT over, just taken a different unplanned turn for now. I will be back out there, just not sure on the when or how yet. As the days get pushed on, there is the issue of PTO as well for both Ben & me, and how much time we can be away from work and life.
Also, many thanks to multiple extremely generous in-kind donations and gifts towards expenses, ALL FUNDS donated here will go directly towards PanCan & the Ice Age Trail Alliance.
Thank you again to everyone for all your love and support!
