Stop Heroin Now rally has been relocated

The Stop Heroin Now event has been relocated because of the inclement weather. The rally is now being held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 N. Seventh Avenue. The rally runs from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and includes information booths, a balloon launch and motivational speakers including State Rep. John Nygren who was awarded the 2016 Excellence in Government Award for his work on the HOPE Agenda (Heroin, Opioid Prevention and Education)
There will also be an opportunity to speak with AODA and Mental Health therapists from Affiliated Clinical Services.

Since 2008 there have been over 100 overdose deaths in Washington County related to the use of heroin and other opiates. This is a huge problem in our community that is continuing to grow each year.
Join us in a rally to help raise AWARENESS about the harm that this horrible drug causes, get treatment INFORMATION, and show SUPPORT for those affected by addiction. Make a sign and come hold it high!

The event will Include:
*Make a sign and march the street. * Participate in a memorial balloon launch to remember those we have lost to this horrible disease. * Stop by and visit with your some of your favorite Wisconsin advocacy groups such as Stop Heroin Now, WI CAN and RISE TOGETHER!

 

*Please join us for a day of motivational speakers! To name just a few- Director of AODA Services and Stop Heroin Now President Jessica Goddard-Geschke, Stop Heroin Now School Outreach Specialist Andy Krieser, Rise Together Co-Founders and National Advocates Anthony Alvarado and Douglas Darby, Recovery Consultant and Recovery Coach with Helios Addiction Recovery Services Jesse Heffernan and Co-Owner of Affiliated Clinical Services and Psychologist Jim Giese. *Our featured speaker will be Wisconsin State Representative John Nygren. Representative Nygren was awarded the 2016 Excellence in Government Award for his work on the HOPE Agenda (Heroin, Opioid Prevention and Education)
*Opportunity to speak with AODA and Mental Health therapists from Affiliated Clinical Services. They will be on hand to discuss treatment options in the Washington County Area. *Get Involved! Discuss how you can get involved in your community with Washington County Heroin Task Force.
