REAL ESTATE | Major Sysco expansion on the horizon in Village of Jackson

February 21, 2022 – Jackson, WI – The Jackson Village Board will be reviewing a proposal during its Thursday, February 24, 2022 Plan Commission meeting regarding a major expansion at Sysco East Wisconsin, 1 Sysco Drive, Jackson, WI.

Sysco is touted as a “global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food and non-food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments and other customers around the world.”Sysco

Sysco’s current building is 310,344 square feet.

The Village Board will review information below submitted by Sysco regarding an expansion including the possible elimination of Mill Road to connect the parcel to the south of the current building at 1 Sysco Drive.

Jackson Village Administrator Jen Keller said there will be three requests taken up by the Plan Commission regarding the proposed Sysco. “Because they want that parcel south of Mill Road, they’re providing three different applications. One for the site plan, one for a CSM to combine the two lots into one, and the third piece is a review of a request to vacate the road because they will be expanding their operations significantly enough that it warrants their request to close the road,” she said.

There were several reasons, according to Keller, why Sysco selected Jackson for its expansion including the lands proximity to a primary travel corridor, the expansion of the community of Jackson and the location strategically meets their needs for ground transportation.

Once constructed this will be the largest Sysco facility in the U.S.

Keller said 200 more jobs will be added locally.

Thursday’s Plan Commission meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Jackson Municiple Complex. The meeting is open to the public.
