September 19, 2022 – Hartford, WI – So how much does weather play in gaining attendance at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center (VMAC). Well, statistics from the 2022 swim season show that attendance at the pool was down just under 2,000 people versus
2021 while the temperature during the 90-day season was on average the lowest it has been in several years.
This year, the opening air temperature averaged just 70 degrees while in years past, it was closer to 72-74. In reality, the temperatures that truly mean a lot are the number of days in which the daily high temperature was over 80 degrees. That was substantially down from prior years.

The good news for the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center was that while the attendance was down from 42,000 people to 40,000 the total revenue was higher in 2022 by over $27,000. This helps in reducing the levy support needed to not only pay for the operations but debt on the pool.
I’m a bit confused why West Bend’s own Regner Park sits almost dorment?
