May 31, 2023 – West Bend, WI – A bit of excitement on Decorah Road on Wednesday afternoon, May 31, 2023 as a trucker hauling a Dumpster noticed smoke coming from the container. According to Battalion Chief Jeff Gustafson he “dropped the container in the road” to get it away from the vehicle.
The West Bend fire department responded and quickly doused the fire. Nobody was injured. The contents in the back were scrap household appliances. The initial call came in before 2:45 p.m. and the road was back open just west of Sixth Avenue by 3:05 p.m.\
