April 26, 2019 – Newburg, WI – It was March 18 when the video was posted below about the aftermath of ice jams, rushing water and flooding on the Milwaukee River and the sad mess left in its wake at Fireman’s Park in Newburg.
Most of the park has been cleaned up but on Friday, April 26 the athletic club along with D&D Fencing in West Bend will complete a service project to install 50 feet of outfield fence and roughly 400 feet of sideline fence.
Organizers are asking anyone who is available to show up and help.
“We will be installing new posts but trying to use as much as possible of the old top and mid-rail and fabric,” wrote Dustin. “This will help cut down costs that the athletic club would have to raise.”
This service project will start at 8 a.m. This will be an all-day event. Anyone is welcome and you may come and go as you please.

The field is located directly behind the Newburg Fire Department.
Video shows a pile of ice chunks on the shore in a grassy area just below the U.S. Post in Newburg.
A bit further on there’s a pile of wet logs and a splintered wooden picnic table jutting out of the frozen ice jam.
The fence from the baseball field is a mangled wreck and much of the surrounding area is muddy pool of water and ice.
On Saturday, March 16 the Village declared a Level 2 State of Emergency as repairs were made to the sanitation system.
Sunday, the emergency order was lifted.
