Warrior Hiker Update: Section of Trail A Favorite

Warrior Hiker Michael Maziarka who originally hails from West Bend checked in with us and shared about a segment he hiked on the Ice Age Trail last week,.

“Got to stay at this amazing Adirondack shelter built just last year. This section of trail had easily been my favorite so far,” said Maziarka, “After weeks of constant wet feet we finally had 3 days of solid, dry trail and beautiful hiking in the Harrison Hills segment north of Merrill, WI. This shelter felt like a luxury hotel situated next to a small lake with the sounds of bullfrogs and birds lulling you to sleep. This area was a pleasure to hike.”

The men are in the New Hope area just east of Steven’s Point.

Maziarka and hiking partner Miles Vining (both Afghanistan war veterans) are participating in the Warrior Hike and are walking the entire Ice Age Trail (1100+ miles) in three month’s time.
