Washington Co. Sheriff looks for help with credit card fraud case

 

Jan. 14, 2107 – Hartford, WI – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fraudulent use of a credit card complaint that occurred in the City of Hartford on Dec. 31, 2016 at 10:57 a.m.

The victim, a Town of Erin resident, contacted us after his credit card was declined during a legitimate purchase later that same day.

The subsequent investigation revealed the suspect, identified as a younger female black, 5’4” – 5’5” tall and about 120 pounds, went into the Hartford Game Stop, located at 35 Liberty Ave., and attempted to make a purchase of several hundred dollars.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking information to identify the suspect from the surveillance recordings that GameStop was able to provide to the Sheriff’s Office.

Washington County Sheriff’s said fraudulent credit card cases are becoming all too common. The Sheriff’s Office would appreciate any assistance in locating this Easily Identifiable Person in the photo. The last time we requested assistance with identifying a person in a photo, it took 7 minutes. I think we can do better.
