Washington Co. Sheriff’s assist in armed carjacking pursuit

September 1, 2025 – TOWN OF ADDISON, Wis. – On August 31, 2025, at approximately 1:53PM, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to assist the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office with a pursuit of a vehicle wanted in connection with a recent armed carjacking.

The suspect vehicle, a grey Chrysler 300 sedan, was being pursued northbound on Interstate 41 from County Line Road Q with speeds reaching more than 120 mph. Deputies from the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office terminated the pursuit due to losing radio communications with their dispatch center. Two Washington County deputies were positioned south of Highway 145 and re-initiated a pursuit after the driver continued to travel at high speeds and drove recklessly.

Multiple law enforcement agencies coordinated to deploy tire deflation devices. A Washington County deputy successfully deployed tire deflation devices near Highway 33. The pursuit ended safely on Interstate 41 northbound, just north of County Trunk DW in the town of Addison.

A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and the driver, a 30-year-old Milwaukee man, and the passenger, a 21-year-old Milwaukee man, were taken into custody without incident. Both individuals have lengthy criminal records.

Following the arrest, custody of both suspects and the vehicle were transferred to the Milwaukee Police Department, which is handling the armed car jacking investigation.

Although the subjects were transferred to Milwaukee County authorizes, the driver will be facing multiple criminal charges in Washington County to include:

  • Felony Fleeing/Eluding an Officer
  • Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
  • Misdemeanor Bail Jumping
  • Operating Without a Valid License (2nd offense within 3 years)

Sheriff Martin R. Schulteis praised the teamwork of all agencies involved:

“This incident highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies.

By working together, we were able to safely bring this dangerous situation to a conclusion and ensure the suspects were held accountable.

Regardless of jurisdictional boundaries, our priority remains protecting the public and supporting our law enforcement partners.”

The incident remains under investigation by the Milwaukee Police Department.
