Washington Co., WI – Concerned about the proposed change in your We Energy rate – customers can weigh in through Thursday, October 19, 2023.. We Energies customers can expect to see higher utility bills in 2024, according to proposals submitted to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.

“Wisconsin Electric Power Co. and Wisconsin Gas LLC (doing business as We Energies) filed a proposal on April 28, 2022, with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to set 2023 rates for electric, natural gas, and steam utility operations.” – We Energies

We Energies is proposing a 1.6% residential rate increase.

The rate changes are to cover new investments in infrastructure such as renewable energy.

We Energies customers are encouraged to weigh in on the proposed increase. Comments will be accepted through Oct. 16, 2023.

The Citizens Utility Board (CUB) criticizes the request to increase rates, saying profits for We Energies have been too high for too long, with customers paying the price.
