Weekend sees 4 OWI arrests in West Bend

June 26, 2017 – West Bend, WI – On Friday June 23, 2017 at 2:22 a.m., a citizen reported seeing smoke in the area of the US 45 off ramp at W. Washington St. in West Bend. Police located an unoccupied vehicle that had veered off the roadway and struck a sign before coming to a stop in the ditch. The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old Campbellsport male, was located walking westbound on W. Washington St. about a block away and
officers noticed signs of impairment. The male failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and blew a .139 in a PBT.  The male was arrested for Operating an Auto While Under the Influence, 3rd Offense and
Hit and Run and placed in jail.

Also on Friday at 9:38 p.m., a citizen called West Bend Police to check on a male sleeping in a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot. Officers made contact with a 25-year-old West Bend male and sole occupant of the vehicle. The male said he was picking up his girlfriend and showed signs of impairment.
The male failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, was arrested for OWI – Restricted Controlled Substance, Possession of Heroin and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 4:00 a.m., a citizen called West Bend Police to check on a male sleeping in a vehicle at the Kwik Trip gas pumps. Officers made contact with a 20-year-old Jackson male who showed signs of impairment. The male failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, PBT’ed .121 and was arrested for OWI.

On Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 1:03 a.m. a West Bend Police Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as a 33-year-old West Bend female. The officer noticed signs of impairment and the driver failed the standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI –
Restricted Controlled Substance.
