Gerald G. Uebele “Jerry,” age 86 of Hartford

Gerald G. Uebele “Jerry,” age 86 of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Gardens of Hartford.

Jerry was born on February 9, 1929 in Harford, WI to George and Alma (nee Grantman) Uebele. He was united in marriage to Ruth Staerkel on July 28, 1951 at Emmanuel Evangelical Church and Reform in Oshkosh, WI. He was a dairy farmer his entire life.

Earlier in life he held an aviation license and owned a 4-seater Pieper Clipper. Jerry was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church in Hartford and attended church every Sunday. He held many positions within the church, served on the board of the co-op, served on the HUHS school board, and the draft board.

For over 20 years he was also a board member of the First National Bank of Hartford and the president of the Moraine Mutual Insurance Company. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping and traveling, going to concerts and recitals, and attending church.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Ruth Uebele; loving children, Jerry (Connie) Uebele, Ron Uebele, and Lisa (Randy) DuPont, all of Hartford; cherished grandchildren, Aaron and Sara Uebele, and Elizabeth and Michael DuPont; and dear siblings-in-law, Donald (Jean) Staerkel of Oshkosh, Gerald Staerkel of Neenah, and Marge Staerkel of Oshkosh. He is further survived by other loved relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Alma Uebele; parents-in-law, Henry and Mary (nee Dimpfl) Staerkel; and siblings-in-law, Henry Staerkel and Carole Staerkel.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00a.m. at the First United Methodist Church (738 W. Monroe Avenue –Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Paul Johnsen and Pastor Arv Arvinson co-officiating. Jerry’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00-10:45a.m.

Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church of Hartford are appreciated.

The staff at the Gardens of Hartford became near and dear to Gerald this past year and the family is so thankful that he was taken care of with such loving care. A very special thank you to Melissa Wickey. Also, thank you to Dr. Pfotenhauer for the many years of care you gave Gerald.
