Germantown Police arrest two following theft, vehicle pursuit and crash | By Chief Peter Hoell

September 8, 2019 – Germantown, WI – On Sunday, September 8, 2019 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Germantown Police Communications received a report of a retail theft in progress at Walmart in Germantown on Appleton Avenue.

Germantown Police Officers located the suspect vehicle.

The suspect vehicle fled from GPD Officers traveling southbound on Appleton Avenue. The suspect vehicle crashed on Appleton Av. in the area of Cleveland Avenue in Menomonee Falls.

The suspect vehicle crashed into a unoccupied parked vehicle, light poles and various other objects along the road. GPD Officers took two subjects into custody, one of which was the driver.

There were no reported injuries.

Both subjects reside in Milwaukee, both male, one 26 years of age the other is 33 years of age.

GPD Officers were assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol and Menomonee Falls PD at the crash scene and to search for two other suspects who are at large and fled from the suspect vehicle.

The registration plates on the vehicle were reported stolen.

Both suspects will be transported to the Washington County Jail for theft and eluding along with other potential charges based off of a completed investigation.

    Retail theft…………..6 months probation

    Retail theft, possession of stolen property, eluding police, reckless driving, endangering safety by conduct regardless of life…….6 months probation.
    It makes sense for them to flee. Nothing to lose.
