Nov. 6, 2018 – Dodge Co., WI – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is now able to release the name of the victim in last week’s homicide in the Town of Lebanon as proper notifications have been made to family members.
The decedent’s name is Bradlee Gerke, 36, of Beaver Dam.
Again, no further information will be released in this case by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office until such time as the criminal complaint is filed with the courts as it is an active and ongoing investigation.
There is no timeline on when that complaint will be filed with the courts.
Death Investigation Update
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Dodge County Medical Examiner continues to investigate the death reported to us on Wednesday October 31, 2018. We are still not able to release a great deal of information as it is an active investigation. We can confirm that a body was located at the scene of this incident. An autopsy is being conducted to determine cause of death. Due to the excellent work of our detectives and deputies, we can say that we believe the perpetrator is in custody on unrelated charges. Our detectives will work through the facts of the case and make appropriate charges when appropriate. We will not be releasing information on names or those unrelated charges at this time to maintain the integrity of the investigation. There will be no further information available on this case until such time as a criminal complaint is filed with the courts. The name of the victim is also still being withheld pending positive identification and notification of family.

At about 6:15pm on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a death that occurred at N901 Redwing Road in the Town of Lebanon. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and discovered the body of a male subject. At this time we are still working on positive identification of the victim and we are not able to release additional pending that identification and notification of the family. It is believed at this point that the death is the result of a Homicide. The Sheriff’s Office has one person in custody on unrelated charges as the investigation continues. As this is an active investigation, we are unable to release further details at this time, but it is important to note that we believe the public to be safe regarding this incident. Sheriff’s office staff worked through the night into this morning investigating the incident.
