August 5, 2018 – Kewaskum, WI – Leah D. Hartmann (nee Klukas), 69, of Kewaskum was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 2, 2018 with her family by her side.
She was born on August 27, 1948 to the late Arthur and Adela (nee Moldenhauer) Klukas in West Bend. She graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1966. On September 6, 1969 she was united in marriage to Glenn Hartmann at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Together they raised their three children.
She worked for many years at B.C. Ziegler, Regal Ware, and the Washington County Court House. Leah was a lifelong member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Leah was also a member of the Junior Woman Club and the Central Africa Medical Mission.
Leah had many hobbies and interests including sewing, crocheting, photography, birdwatching and her flower gardens. Her devout faith in God was evidenced by her love of others, her kindness and generosity, and her bright smile and willingness to hug anyone she met. Her family meant the world to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Those Leah leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Glenn Hartmann; three children, Mark (Christy) Hartmann, Andrea Hoefert, and Matthew (Alissa) Hartmann; four grandchildren, Elise Slane, Annabelle Slane, Tenley Hartmann, Tatum Hartmann; two nieces, JoAnn (John) Reysen and Janet Snow; many brothers and sisters-in-law; other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Lois (Byron) Bunkelman and her father and mother-in-law, Wallace and Mildred Hartmann.
A funeral service in remembrance of Leah will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Dr., Kewaskum.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Lutheran Memorial Park, Kewaskum.
Memorials to the Hoenecke Book Fund or to Lutheran Memorial Park Cemetery in Leah’s name is appreciated by the family.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at the Kathy Hospice, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Horizon Home Care and Hospice for all their compassionate help and care.
