July 20, 2026 – Ozaukee Co., Wi – The state of Wisconsin is spending $1.1 million on a slope stabilization and improvement project along WIS 57 in Ozaukee County, approximately 0.2 miles south of the WIS 57/County K intersection. Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 27.

Improvements include:
- Stabilize the WIS 57 slope using rigid vertical elements (miniature pilings driven into the embankment to strengthen the slope).
- Concrete pavement replacement
- Grading, storm sewer, and culvert improvements
- New pavement markings and restoration
Traffic Impacts:=
This project will be completed in two stages:
- Stage 1: Full closure of northbound WIS 57 for culvert work
- This closure is scheduled to last approximately one (1) week. Northbound WIS 57 detours will be posted.
- Stage 2: WIS 57 will remain open in both directions with various lane and shoulder closures
