$1.1 million slope stabilization and improvement project on WIS 57 in Ozaukee Co., WI

July 20, 2026 – Ozaukee Co., Wi – The state of Wisconsin is spending $1.1 million on a slope stabilization and improvement project along WIS 57 in Ozaukee County, approximately 0.2 miles south of the WIS 57/County K intersection. Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 27.

Improvements include:

  • Stabilize the WIS 57 slope using rigid vertical elements (miniature pilings driven into the embankment to strengthen the slope).
  • Concrete pavement replacement
  • Grading, storm sewer, and culvert improvements
  • New pavement markings and restoration

Traffic Impacts:=

This project will be completed in two stages:

  • Stage 1: Full closure of northbound WIS 57 for culvert work
    • This closure is scheduled to last approximately one (1) week. Northbound WIS 57 detours will be posted.
  • Stage 2: WIS 57 will remain open in both directions with various lane and shoulder closures

Local access will be maintained to businesses and residences.

Ā Work is scheduled for completion in fall 2026. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
