1 person dies following structure fire in Lomira | By Dodge Co. Sheriff

November 3, 2025 – Lomira, Wi – On Saturday, November 1, 2025, at approximately 11:10 p.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center was notified of a structure fire in a multi-unit apartment building at an address on County Road Y, in the town of Lomira.

The Knowles Fire Department immediately responded to the scene and began rescue operations.

Three residents were evacuated from the building. Two residents were uninjured, and one resident was pronounced deceased after being transported to St. Agnesian Hospital in Fond du Lac. The decedent was identified as Brandi Koelsch (48) from Lomira.

Knowles Fire Department was assisted by Lomira Fire Department, Brownsville Fire Company, Theresa Fire Department, Mayville Fire Department, Kekoskee Fire Department, Brownsville First Responders, Iron Ridge Fire Department, Clyman-Lowell-Reeseville Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department, Horicon Fire Department, Oakfield Fire Department, Campbellsport Fire Department, Lamartine Fire Department, Mayville EMS, and City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Department One firefighter suffered non-life threatening injuries during rescue operations.

Property loss management

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was contacted, and Special Agents with the Wisconsin Department of Justice responded to assist Dodge County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation. This incident remains under investigation.
