September 15, 2021 – West Bend, WI – The West Bend West varsity volleyball team lost a heartbreaker in 5 sets to the visiting Cedarburg Bulldogs on Tuesday night in West Bend.
The Spartans came out strong winning each of the first two sets 25 – 23, 25 – 21.
The Spartans had a large lead in the third set as well, but Cedarburg battled back to win that set 25- 22 and the momentum seemed to shift in their favor at that point.
The Bulldogs won the 4th set 25 – 17. The Spartans made it interesting in the 5th and deciding set, but ultimately Cedarburg came away victorious 15-10.
Lindsay Sadleback led the team with 12 kills and 11 digs, Rory Griffin added 9 kills, Kelsey Corbett had 18 assists with 11 digs and Isabelle Sternig added 14 assists, Megan Spaeth led the team with 21 digs.
The Spartans have a 1-2 record in the North Shore conference.
